Hurricane Otis: Cross-border Coalition Steps Up for Acapulco communities

Spokespeople in Mexico and the U.S. from prominent entities like United Way Mexico, Corazón Latino, Orlegi Sports, and The American Society Mexico available for interviews.

WHAT: In response to the catastrophic aftermath of Hurricane Otis in Acapulco, Mexico, a coalition of civil society organizations and corporations from Mexico, the United States, and Latin America is convening to activate coordinated relief and long-term support for the affected regions. 

The initial members of the coalition include:

  • United Way/Fondo Unido Mexico: Representing community support and mobilization efforts in Mexico.

  • Orlegi Sports, Engaging the broader sports community and corporate partners in relief efforts. 

  • The American Society Mexico: Bridges cultures, strengthening business, civic, and interpersonal bonds between the U.S. and Mexico.

  • Corazón Latino: With a track record in disaster response, we ignite passion for nature within Latino communities, bridging cultures and sparking environmental action.

  • FedEx Mexico: Supporting in logistical challenges and solutions in deploying aid  to those affected.
