Corazón Latino Celebrates U.S. Forest Service Actions to Curb Climate Change

The transition to electric vehicles will reduce the impact of fossil fuels

Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) is transitioning to electric vehicles in compliance with President Biden’s executive order on clean energy. The USFS plans to replace all of its 8,755 light trucks with electric vehicles as soon as possible.

Executive Director of Corazón Latino, Felipe Benítez, issued the following statement:

“Our Madre Tierra is in desperate need of support and she has found it in the Biden administration and with the USFS. It is encouraging that our government agencies are taking the lead on innovation and climate action; not only will electric fleets be better for the preservation of our national parks but visitors will be exposed to the amazing capabilities of EV vehicles.

“We have to keep taking action to protect Madre Tierra by reducing our dirty energy consumption. If we take care of our Mother Earth, she will also take care of us.”
