We know that being in nature is good for humans and good for the environment. How do we harness the collective efforts of our nature-promoting organizations to make nature therapy accessible? Join us in person or via webinar for an exciting day of collaboration.
VISION:
Our vision is to convene our respective organizations to collaborate in creating a viable network of guides, trails, physicians, and forest/parks managers to create a public health system that delivers evidence-based healing benefits of nature to communities, particularly those who are underrepresented in the healthcare system, using our lands as important access points for nature-based healing. We aim to offer this health intervention while also fostering stewardship for the natural spaces that offer healing benefits, creating a reciprocal relationship.
We'll begin the day with a forest therapy walk led by certified forest therapy guides from the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides. From there, we will hear presentations featuring various aspects of forest therapy, nature-based prescriptions, research highlighting health benefits of nature connections, diversity and inclusion and community-based involvement. Participants have two options to join: in person at Brookside Gardens, or via webinar.
