🌳Fajardo and Naguabo: City Nature Challenge in Puerto Rico

🌳 What: Started in 2016 as a competition between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the City Nature Challenge (CNC) has grown into an international event, motivating people around the world to find and document wildlife in their cities. Run by the Community Science teams at the California Academy of Sciences and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the CNC is an annual four-day global bioblitz at the end of April, where cities are in a collaboration-meets-friendly-competition to see not only what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal, but also which city can gather the most observations of nature, find the most species, and engage the most people in the event. For the third year, Corazon Latino will this effort in northeast Puerto Rico.
🌳 Qué trata: Inicia en 2016 como una competencia entre San Francisco y Los Ángeles, el City Nature Challenge (CNC) se ha convertido en un evento internacional que motiva a personas de todo el mundo a encontrar y documentar la vida silvestre en sus ciudades. Dirigido por los equipos de Ciencias de la Comunidad en la Academia de Ciencias de California y el Museo de Historia Natural del Condado de Los Ángeles, el CNC es un bioblitz global anual de cuatro días a fines de abril, donde las ciudades se encuentran en una competencia de colaboración y amistad. Buscan ver no solo lo que se puede lograr cuando todos trabajamos hacia un objetivo común, sino también qué ciudad puede recopilar la mayor cantidad de observaciones de la naturaleza, encontrar la mayor cantidad de especies e involucrar a la mayor cantidad de personas en el evento. Por tercer año, Corazón Latino hará este esfuerzo en el este de Puerto Rico.
