En esta celebración comunitaria habrá comida y mucha diversión, mientras hacemos el buen acto de limpiar y recoger la basura en uno de nuestros sitios locales favoritos: el Parque Anacostia. De acuerdo a la experiencia de los años anteriores, este año te unirás a más de 75 mil voluntarios en más de 2,100 sitios de tierras públicas en los 50 estados del país, además del Distrito de Columbia y Puerto Rico, para que contribuyas al cuidado de estos tesoros nacionales.
Espera, todavía hay más. También estamos emocionados de celebrar el 50 Aniversario de los Ríos Silvestres y Escénicos, un sistema nacional establecido para mantener a los ríos saludables y con flujos libres, lo cual ayuda a limpiar y proteger tus mantos acuíferos locales.

Dirígete hacia Baltimore-Washington Pkwy/295
Continúa por Baltimore-Washington Parkway south hacia Washington, DC. Toma los carriles izquierdos hacia I-295 South, permanece en el carril central. Cuando te aproximes al Douglass Bridge, los carriles se abrirán, la entrada al parque está del lado derecho. Da vuelta a la derecha hacia el pabellón de patinaje y la zona de canchas de tenis. Debes esperar que haya desviaciones debido a la construcción de un camino por parte del Distrito.
Transporte Público
Autobús:
Los autobuses de U2, V7, y V9 dan servicio en la esquina de Pennsylvania Ave. SE y Fairlawn Drive. Desde esa esquina, camina hacia el oeste sobre Fairlawn, da vuelta a la derecha hacia Nicholson Drive hacia Anacostia Drive. Visita WMATA para más detalles sobre cuotas y rutas.
Metro:
Línea Verde: Utiliza la Estación Anacostia. Sal de la estación siguiendo los señalamientos hacia el estacionamiento del Metro. Da vuelta a la derecha y continúa por el camino. Entra al parque a través de la puerta de reja.
Líneas Azul/Anaranjado/Plateado: Sal en la estación Potomac Ave. Camina al sureste sobre Pennsylvania Ave. SE y cruza el puente. Si estás cruzando desde la dirección norte de puente, inmediatamente después de cruzarlo, da vuelta a la izquierda para seguir el camino hacia Anacostia Drive. Bicicleta
Quizá la manera más placentera de llegar es a través del Camino del Río Anacostia. Estamos a tan solo 30 minutos (6.1 millas) de un recorrido en bicicleta desde la ciclovía estatal de Maryland. En el recorrido hacia el parque, alentamos a que se disfrute la brisa, se observen a los venados pastando a lo largo del camino, y estés pendiente de águilas calvas planeando en los cielos. ¡Quizá hasta te den ganas de hacer un parada en los Jardines Acuáticos de Kenilworth mientras estás en camino! Aquí encontrarás algunos mapas que fueron dados por el Distrito de Transporte.
Lancha/Bote
Una rampa pública se pondrá a disposición cerca del Pabellón de Patinaje sobre Ruedas, al sur del puente de las vías del tren en 1500 Anacostia Drive SE.

National Public Lands Day Clean Waterways Trash Cleanup at Anacostia Park!
Spend your Sunday morning making a difference with some of the best local and national partners around!
Join Potomac Conservancy, Anacostia Riverkeeper, and a few other friends listed below in celebrating National Public Lands Day, the single largest volunteer effort for public lands in the nation!
This community celebration will feature food, fun, and a trash cleanup at one of our favorite local spots, Anacostia Park! If this year is anything like the last, you will be joining over 75,000 volunteers at more than 2,100 public land sites in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico to do your part for these national treasures.
There's more! We are also excited to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Wild & Scenic Rivers, a national system established to keep rivers healthy and free flowing, by helping clean and protect your local waterway.

Follow the Baltimore-Washington Pkwy/295
Follow the Baltimore-Washington Parkway south toward Washington, DC. Take the left lanes to I-295 South, then stay in the center lane. From I-295, take the eastbound Pennsylvania Avenue exit. Take the first right onto Fairlawn Avenue. Go to the stop sign and turn right again on Nicholson Street to enter the park. Turn right to get to the skating pavilion and tennis court area. Expect detours due to road construction by the District.
From Interstate Route 395
Follow I-395 North into Washington, DC toward the Southeast-Southwest Freeway. Travel south on 9th Street to I-395 North. Stay left and follow the sign for I-295 South. Then follow the sign for Pennsylvania Avenue. Exit onto Pennsylvania Avenue. Cross the bridge. Take the first right onto Fairlawn Avenue. Go to the stop sign and turn right again on Nicholson Street to enter the park. Turn right to get to the skating pavilion and tennis court area.
From the Suitland Pkwy/South Capitol St.
Follow the Suitland Parkway west toward Washington, DC. Turn right at the 4th traffic signal onto Firth Sterling Avenue. Take the next left turn on Howard Road. When you approach the Douglass Bridge, the lanes will split and the park entrance is to the right. Turn right to get to the skating pavilion and tennis court area. Expect detours due to road construction by the District.
Public Transportation
Bus: The U2, V7, and V9 buses service the corner of Pennsylvania Ave. SE and Fairlawn Drive. From that corner, walk west on Fairlawn, turn right onto Nicholson Drive to Anacostia Drive. Visit WMATA for fares and route details.
Metro:
Green Line: Use Anacostia Station. Exit the station by following signs toward the Metro parking lot. Turn right and walk alongside road. Enter park through the fence gate.
Blue/Orange/Silver Line: Exit at Potomac Ave. station. Walk southeast along Pennsylvania Ave. SE, and cross the bridge. If crossing from the north side of the bridge, immediately after crossing the bridge, turn left to follow the trail to Anacostia Drive. If crossing the south side of the bridge, follow the path to the right to Anacostia Drive. Visit WMATA for fares and route details.
By Bike
Perhaps the most pleasant way to arrive here is via the Anacostia River Trail. We are only a 30 minute (6.1 mile) bike ride from the Maryland state line. On route to the park we encourage you to enjoy the breeze, watch for deer grazing along the trail, and be on the lookout for bald eagles soaring overhead. You may even wish to stop by Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens on your way! Here are some maps provided by the District of Transportation.
By Boat
A public boat ramp is provided near the Roller Skating Pavilion, just south of the railroad bridge, at 1500 Anacostia Drive SE.
